# Generate alternative texts for your images with OpenAI and SEOPress PRO

You can automagically generate alternative texts for your image files.

## Register to OpenAI

Please follow [this guide to get started with our OpenAI integration](https://www.seopress.org/support/guides/generate-your-seo-metadata-with-openai/) and SEOPress.

Once registered to the platform and the API key added to SEOPress’ settings, go back to this guide and continue to follow the tutorial.

## Automatically create alt text when uploading images

Go to **SEO**, **PRO**, **AI** tab, and check “**Use AI to set the image Alt text**” option to generate alt texts when you send an image file to the WordPress media library.

Choose **GPT-4/5 model with Vision** from **AI** tab settings (required).

Make sure you have made a [$5 payment to OpenAI](https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/overview) platform before using GPT-4/5 model.

## Mass generate your alternative text tags

Go to your **Media library**, switch to the **list view**, select one or more images, and from the bulk actions dropdown, choose “**Generate alt text with AI**“. Click **Apply** to run the process.

Since version 8.7 of SEOPress PRO, you can also choose “**Generate alt text with AI (only for missing alt text)**“.
