# How to change your Site Name in Google search results

## What’s the site name?

The site name is displayed in the Google search results for each snippet above the meta title.

## How Google selects it?

It usually uses the name defined from the **Website** schema in JSON (automatically added by SEOPress). If not available it can use the `og:site_name`, `<title>` tag, headings (`<h1>`, `<h2>`…) or any relevant text in the page.

## Edit manually the site name

To edit this site name, go to your **WordPress admin**, **SEO**, **Titles and metas**, **Home** tab.

Then enter your custom site name in the **alternative site title** field.

Make sure to follow the [official guidelines here](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names#content-guidelines).

**Save changes** and clear your cache if necessary.

That’s it! You have now to wait for Google to update its index.
