# How to use the IndexNow API to instantly index a URL in Bing and Yandex

## What’s IndexNow?

The [IndexNow API](https://www.indexnow.org/) facilitates real-time indexing of web content by search engines, enabling rapid visibility and accessibility of new or updated web pages in search results.

## When should it be used?

The **Google Indexing API** should only be used to crawl pages that contain structured data of type `JobPosting` or `BroadcastEvent` in a `VideoObject` element.

And if you experience indexing issues for a specific URL.

## How to enable IndexNow with SEOPress Free?

After installing [SEOPress Free](https://www.seopress.org/wordpress-seo-plugins/free/), go to **SEO**, **Instant Indexing** settings page.

From the **General** tab, click **Bing / Yandex** search engines.

Click on the **Settings** tab and check this option **Enable automatic URL submission for IndexNow API**.

Make sure a **Bing Indexing API key** has been automatically generated. If it’s not the case, use the dedicated button next to the field to generate it.

**Save changes**.

That’s it! Each time you **publish, update or delete** a post, page or a post type, SEOPress will automatically ping IndexNow API about the changes.

The limit is at 10,000 URL per day.
