SEOPress PRO’s Site Audit groups content issues, helps prioritize corrections and keeps scan history. The Technical view checks the homepage separately. Use a current PRO release to follow this workflow; Site Audit first appeared in 8.2.
Configure scope and notifications
- Open SEO > Audit > Settings.
- Select the public post types to audit. Decide whether to include content marked
noindex; excluding it may be appropriate when it is intentionally outside search results. - Keep a batch size suited to your server. Smaller batches can help on constrained hosting.
- To receive a completion email, enter notification addresses separated by commas.
- Click Save changes.
Run an audit and read the overview
Start the audit from the Audit screen and follow its progress. The scan runs in the background, so you can close the browser tab. Duration depends on the selected content and your server. Background processing must be working for it to finish.
The overview shows scanned content, issues and score information, with history and trend charts. Compare completed scans with a similar scope: adding content or changing exclusions can change the totals. The score is an internal diagnostic indicator, not a Google ranking score.
Review, filter and export issues
Open the results and an issue category to see affected URLs, details and severity. Use search, sorting and filters to locate the work you need. These controls operate across the issue list, not just the visible page. Export CSV when you need an external worklist or record.
Use Edit to correct the content. If a recommendation does not apply to your site, choose Ignore. Ignoring does not change the public page. Include ignored issues in the view and use Restore when you want to review them again.
Add Google Search Console context
Connect your account using the Google Search Console integration guide. Available search metrics help prioritize pages with traffic or ranking opportunities. Missing metrics do not prove that an issue has no impact; check the connection and available data.
Generate missing alt text
For eligible missing-image-alt issues, use AI alt text. Configure a supported vision-capable provider or SEOPress AI Credits first and ensure your user can perform AI generation. Review the generated media text and check the actual page. External images or inaccessible files may not be eligible, and editing a media value does not guarantee every builder rewrites existing page HTML.
Run the Technical homepage checks
Open Technical and click Analyze homepage. Read the checks grouped under foundations, indexability, social sharing, security headers and well-known/resilience. Follow a relevant Configure link to the setting, make the correction and analyze again. Export the technical results to CSV if needed.
This view checks the homepage and site-wide signals; it is separate from the content scan. A security-header recommendation is not a full security audit, and a passed homepage check does not verify every URL.
Recheck and reset
After edits, update the content, clear caches and run a fresh audit to verify the current result. Content issues are also refreshed when posts are updated. For technical changes, rerun the homepage analysis.
To delete stored audit scans, open SEO > Tools > Reset and use Delete SEO Audit scans. Export anything you need first. Clearing stored results does not repair the underlying content; run another audit to rebuild the findings.
