To track your Google Ads conversions with Google Analytics, you have to go to SEO, Google Analytics, General tab and enter your conversion ID to the “Enable Google Ads” field.
Updated for the new Google Ads 2024 design
- Log in to your Google Ads account.
- From the left sidebar, click on Goals.
- Under Conversions, Summary, click on a conversion action in the list.
- Under the Details tab, click on Tag setup.
- Choose to install the tag yourself (1st option), then check the last box.
- Your conversion ID in
AW-XXXXX
format is displayed. - Copy and paste it into the Activate Google Ads field from your WordPress administration, SEO, Google Analytics tab, General section.
- Save the changes and clear your cache.
If you do not see a conversion action and/or the possibility to configure the tracking tag, click on the Create a conversion action button and then follow the wizard.
Old Google Ads design
To find this ID, please follow these steps:
- Login to your Google Ads account.
- Click the Tools & settings icon in the upper right corner of your account.
- Under Measurement, click Conversions.
- Click the + button.
- Choose Website.
- Create your conversion by filling in the different fields according to your needs.
- Go to step 2 by clicking Create and continue button.
- Click “Install the tag yourself“.
- Go to Google Tag Manager tab (even if you’re using it on your site).
- Copy the Conversion ID.
- Click Next.
- Then Done.
- Paste the Conversion ID to your WP admin, SEO, Google Analytics, General tab, Enable Google Ads field.
- Save changes and clear your cache if necessary.
- Check your source code or use the Google Tag Assistant extension.
