Freeze Post Modification Date, SmartCrawl Settings Import, Facebook Domain Verification Meta Tag – SEOPress 9.6

SEOPress 9.6 is now available. We encourage you to update your site as soon as possible to take advantage of the latest features, improvements, and fixes.

🎉 New Feature – Freeze Post Modification Date

We’re introducing a new feature that lets you freeze the modification date of any post, page, or custom post type when saving.

This means you can update your content without WordPress automatically changing the modification date—a crucial benefit for SEO, as this date is used in the XML sitemap and in meta tags like article:modified_time and og:updated_time.

Google and other search engines recommend not updating this date for minor content changes. Doing so also helps reduce your crawl budget.

To enable this option, go to the SEO metabox, under the Advanced tab.

🎉 New Feature – Add Facebook Domain Verification Meta Tag

We’ve added an easy way to add the Facebook domain verification meta tag directly from SEOPress.

This option allows you to verify ownership of your site on Facebook in seconds, without manually editing your code or theme files.

A huge time-saver to secure your domain and ensure your social shares and campaigns work correctly.

You can add it under SEO, Advanced, Advanced tab.
