How to completely disable SEOPress’ schemas

SEOPress produces structured data through several independent features. To remove its markup, review all applicable settings and content blocks below. Disabling the Structured Data Types module alone is not enough.

Disable manual and automatic schemas

Open SEO > PRO > Structured Data Types, turn off the feature and save. This stops the manual and automatic schemas managed by this module, including Product schemas you created for WooCommerce. You do not need to delete your saved schema definitions.

Also turn off the separate ProfilePage option for author archives and save. Do not assume that disabling manual schemas disables this independently generated author markup.

Disable the Knowledge Graph, Local Business and WebSite markup

  1. In SEO > Social Networks > Knowledge Graph, select None for the Person or Organization type and save.
  2. In SEO > PRO > Local Business, switch off the Local Business feature and save.
  3. In SEO > Titles & Metas > Advanced, enable Remove Website schema and save. Older documentation calls its underlying setting nositelinkssearchbox.

Remove breadcrumb markup

Open SEO > PRO > Breadcrumbs. Disable the JSON-LD breadcrumb option and, if you want no SEOPress breadcrumb markup at all, disable the breadcrumb feature. Its visible HTML can also contain Schema.org microdata.

Check templates, widgets, shortcodes and breadcrumb blocks. Remove or replace SEOPress breadcrumb displays if necessary, then save the affected templates and content. Removing only the JSON-LD script does not remove HTML microdata.

Check FAQ and How-to content blocks

For each SEOPress FAQ block, turn off Enable FAQ Schema in the block settings and update the post. Check reusable patterns and templates too.

The SEOPress How-to block saves schema with its content. To retain the tutorial without that markup, replace it with ordinary heading, paragraph, image and list blocks, then update the post. Keep the visible content you need. Global module switches do not erase markup already saved in post content.

WooCommerce and other independent sources

WooCommerce can generate its own structured data even after SEOPress Product schemas are disabled. If you also want to remove WooCommerce’s default output, use SEO > PRO > WooCommerce > Remove WooCommerce Schemas. Keep the WooCommerce integration active for its removal setting to run. There is also a separate option to remove only WooCommerce breadcrumb JSON-LD.

Turn off the global return-policy setting if you no longer want SEOPress to enrich Organization or Product offers. Check custom JSON-LD, theme code, snippets and other plugins separately. Disabling SEOPress is not a global switch for every producer of structured data.

Verify the published result

  1. Clear page, server and CDN caches.
  2. Open representative public URLs: homepage, post with blocks, author archive and product page.
  3. Inspect source and rendered HTML for application/ld+json, itemscope, itemtype and itemprop.
  4. Check the URLs with a structured-data validator. Identify the producer of any remaining markup before removing it.
