Automatically generate image metadata on upload
Go to SEO, PRO, AI and scroll to the Misc section. Enable Auto Alt Text: When uploading an image file, automatically generate metadata using AI. Note that this may slow down the image upload.
Choose which fields to generate: Under Fields to generate on upload, choose exactly which metadata SEOPress PRO writes for each image:
- Alt text (accessibility/SEO attribute)
- Caption
- Description
Enable only the fields you need.
Which providers can generate image metadata? Requires a vision capable model: OpenAI, Google Gemini, Claude, Mistral (vision models only: Pixtral, Mistral Medium, Magistral), SEOPress credits.
Mass generate your alternative text tags
Go to your Media library, switch to the list view, select one or more images, and from the bulk actions dropdown, choose “Generate alt text with AI“. Click Apply to run the process.
Since version 8.7 of SEOPress PRO, you can also choose “Generate alt text with AI (only for missing alt text)“.
